New Year Resolutions

It’s the start of a new year and a time for many people to make resolutions or set goals. I’ve never been one to treat the transition from one year to the next with any deference or commitment. But for some reason, probably because of the start of a new business and the certifications I’ve been working on, when I think about the new year, I am drawn to an excerpt from a book that was read to me during a yoga class- a meditation called “Going Easy”. My favorite parts are:

Go easy. You may have to push forward, but you don’t have to push so hard. Go in gentleness, go in peace... Enjoy and relish middles, the heart of the matter. Do not be in too much of a hurry to finish. You may be almost done, but enjoy the final moments....

I hope this new year gives you all the new beginnings, middles, and ends that you seek. I’m a few days late, but I wish you all a happy new year.
